2946 new personal insolvencies across Australia in the September quarter 2020. These were comprised of:
- 1676 bankruptcies, down by 54.6% on the September quarter 2019.
- 1247 debt agreements
- 23 personal insolvency agreements
Bankruptcies in the September quarter 2020 were at their lowest level since AFSA’s current records began in the September quarter 1986. There were falls in all states and territories.
Personal insolvencies in Australia were down 50.9% compared to September quarter 2019. Tasmanian Personal insolvencies were down 61.9%.
26.3% of Bankrupts entered a business related personal Insolvency.
State and territory figures will not necessarily sum to the national total. If multiple debtors in the same state or territory enter into a joint administration, they are only included once in these figures.
